The arterials are the thing to get right. King George Boulevard, Fraser Highway and 104 Avenue are wide, fast and signal-heavy, with long gaps between lights that tempt you into speeds an examiner will mark you down for. Lane discipline through the 152 Street and 88 Avenue corridors is the other recurring theme: multiple through-lanes, frequent bus pull-outs and turn bays that appear late.

South Surrey adds the opposite problem. Quiet residential grids with uncontrolled intersections are where most students stop scanning, and uncontrolled intersections are a standard examiner check.
