Kingsway and Lougheed Highway are the two roads that decide how a Burnaby lesson goes. Both are multi-lane arterials with closely spaced signals, heavy transit traffic and left-turn bays that fill quickly, which makes lane selection something you have to plan a block ahead rather than react to.
What driving here is actually like
Metrotown is the congestion test: dense pedestrian crossings, buses pulling out, and parkade entrances that appear mid-block. The SFU approach up Burnaby Mountain is the opposite kind of test, a sustained grade with tight switchbacks where hill starts and controlled downhill speed actually matter, and where regenerative braking in the Model 3 does most of the work for you once you learn to read the descent early.
The Trans-Canada interchanges at Willingdon and Gaglardi are where Burnaby stops being city driving. Both put you into fast-moving through traffic from a short ramp, and the Gaglardi approach adds a grade to the merge. North of the highway, Hastings through Burnaby Heights returns to slow retail street work with angled parking and constant pedestrian movement, so a single lesson can cover both extremes without leaving the city.
Areas covered: Metrotown · Brentwood · Edmonds · Lougheed · Burnaby Heights · SFU.

What students say
Highly recommend Harry. He is the best driving instructor you can find in Vancouver. He's knowledgeable, patient, kind, and most importantly, he's always there for you when you need him. I took four lessons with him and passed my class 5 road test on the first try.
I got my class 5 license today. Harry is the most patient and methodical driving instructor I have ever had the privilege of working with. I migrated from Bangladesh 3yrs back. I had no prior driving experience in Canada. I had a license in…
I cannot recommend this driving school enough — and especially my instructor, Harry. I passed my driving test on the first attempt, and the only comment from the examiner was simply: “Great job!” Honestly, I still can’t believe it, and this…
